Shackle is Anne La Berge on flute and electronics and Robert van Heumen on laptop-instrument. Their aim is to explicitly and subtly exploit shackling in both concept and material.

Shackle @ UC San Diego

by Robert on April 21, 2014

Our concert at the University of California in San Diego was a genuine climax to our west coast tour. Not 2, not 4 but 8 (or 10) Meyer speakers and 2 throbbing subs in the fantastic CPMC Experimental Theater with a great audience. Thanks to Mark, Tony, David and Jessica for making this possible! And we won’t forget the great group of workshop participants and the crew assisting Tony in running the show.

Shackle at UC Irvine

by Robert on April 21, 2014

We enjoyed the lecture and concert that we gave as part of the Gassman Electronic Music Series at UC Irvine. Chris was getting his hands wet with his new lighting board and contributed to the plethora of sonic and visual colors we went through that night. Thanks to both Chris and Lizzy for making this gig possible.

A Shackle Affair in LA

by Robert on April 21, 2014

Shackle played an Affair with Andrea Young and Michael Day at a SASSAS organized event in the West Hollywood Library. It was a fruitful collaboration. Thanks to Daniel and Greg for putting this together, and of course to Andrea and Michael for joining in and putting up with us old folks.
